Street tacos at midnight, chocolate clams at noon and rooftop dinners in between — downtown Cabo eats better than its reputation suggests.
Start with the tacos
Downtown’s taco stands are the great equalizer — fishermen, bartenders and travelers all end up at the same plastic stools. Look for spots grilling fresh catch al pastor-style, and never skip the handmade tortillas.
Rule of thumb: if the line is full of locals after 9 PM, join it.
Seafood worth dressing up for
The Sea of Cortez delivers chocolate clams, blue shrimp and yellowtail straight to downtown kitchens. Marina-side restaurants shine at sunset; book a table on the water and order whatever was landed that morning.
Breakfast & coffee
Cabo mornings are made for slow breakfasts: chilaquiles, fresh juice and serious specialty coffee within a few blocks of the studios. Most cafes open by 7 AM — perfect before a fishing charter.
Book ahead in high season
From December to April, the best tables go early. Reserve dinner spots a few days out, especially for parties of four or more. Your hosts at Trip & Homes are happy to recommend and reserve — just ask.
